Government White Paper flags the need for Public Mental Health Strategy  "Public health has been around for over 150 years. It's time for public mental health to be put on the agenda. We cannot go on trying to manage mental illness in a reactive way. Public mental health stretches way beyond the NHS, and we look to Government for leadership in delivering this vital agenda across a broad range of agencies. The strategic thinking must start with the Department of Health. A number of key indicators show that the mental health of the public, particularly young people, is deteriorating. Failure to get this right now, will have grave implications for this and future generations."
